A Real Miracle
READ Jeremiah 29:11-13

My wife and I traveled from the United States to Norway on vacation. A cab dropped us off at our hotel, then drove off. I fumbled through my pockets, then realized I didn’t have my smartphone. I stood on the sidewalk, as stressed out as I’ve ever been in my life, wondering what I would do. My phone enabled me to access my hotel and plane reservations, and contact people we’d later be traveling with. How would I get through the next two weeks in a foreign country without my phone? Dread overtook me. I instinctively cried out to God with all my might for help.
A moment later, the taxi driver returned. “Thank God,” I cried as I shook his hand. The driver said he’d heard a phone ringing in his cab and figured it must be mine. He asked me to open the passenger door to check. I found my phone on the floor between the seat and the door, hidden from his view. I thanked the man profusely, then wondered who had called. I wanted to thank them for their impeccable timing. I pressed the Recents button to find out. There was no recent entry in that folder. Puzzled, I rechecked it. How could this be? There was only one explanation. God recognized my need and graciously answered my prayer. It was a real miracle.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Real miracles can happen today, not just in ancient times.
Prayer: Thank you, Lord, for answered prayer.
