Anti-malware Software Needed
READ Matthew 8:1-4

A relative received an email purported to be from Microsoft. She clicked on a link that gave her a number to call. She unwittingly gave control of her computer to the person on the phone, who then locked her computer. She finally realized it was a scam and hung up the phone. She then called her bank, worried the thief might gain access to her accounts. They told her to have a computer expert run anti-malware software to remove the malicious code that had infected her computer.
Likewise, every human being is infected with a form of malware called sin. Sin is anything we think, say, or do (or fail to do), that is contrary to God’s will, as recorded in his Word, the Bible. The devil is a liar (John 8:44b) and a thief (John 10:10). He seeks to control us, deceive us into turning away from God, and destroy us by leading us down a path toward even greater sin. The only way to purge this malware from our body and soul is to be willing to turn away from our sinful way of living, and ask Jesus to cleanse us and save us from the eternal consequences of our sins.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
God will cleanse us from our sins if we ask him (1 John 1:9).
Prayer: Lord Jesus, if you are willing, you can make me clean.
