Why Believe in God?
READ Romans 1:18-23
For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.

A survey conducted in March of 2025 by the Cultural Research Center at Arizona Christian University, led by George Barna, determined that 60% of Americans either do not believe in God, or do not believe that he influences their lives.
As noted in today’s Scripture passage, written by the Apostle Paul under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, it’s obvious from the creation that God exists. You don’t have to be a scientist to know that each human being essentially has an organically-based brain/movie camera in their head that develops and processes images faster than computers, can store, retrieve, and evaluate these images for decades, and uses irreducibly complex eyes that can detect more than a million shades of color. It’s impossible for human beings to have come into existence by accident, just like it’s impossible for an infinitely less-complicated appliance like a smart phone to have come into existence by accident. When unbelievers appear before the Great White Throne Judgment (Revelation 20:11), they will be not be able to give an acceptable excuse for not believing in God. King David wrote in Psalm 14:1, “The fool says in his heart there is no God ….”
Why do so many people, including some really smart people, not believe in God? The Bible teaches that their hearts have been so hardened by sin (Romans 1:18-23), and their minds so blinded (2 Corinthians 4:4; John 12:37-40), that they can’t see the truth.
It boils down to this: Do you trust in humanity’s finite wisdom which changes over time (i.e., that we were created by random fortuitous chance through species-to-species macro evolution over millions of years); or, do you trust in God’s infinite wisdom which never changes as revealed in creation and the Bible (i.e., that God spoke us into existence, as noted in Genesis 1).

Prayer: Father in heaven, please remove any blindness we may have, so we can fully believe and trust in you.
