READ Hebrews 11:1-40
Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.

Whenever I board an airplane, I implicitly assume the pilot has confirmed we have enough fuel to reach our destination. I also trust that he or she has reviewed their checklist to ensure all the components of the aircraft are functioning as expected. As we’re gaining speed to take off, I pray for a safe flight, since I’m completely at the mercy of the flight crew and have absolutely no control over any aspect of the journey. Finally, when we land, I assume we’ve arrived at the correct destination.
The first time I flew on an airplane with my wife and children, we had an extremely bumpy flight. A woman at the front of the plane screamed and cried much of the time in fear, while my kids thought it was great fun, like riding on a rollercoaster.
Believing in God requires faith, because we can’t see him. While life may be a bumpy ride, we can rest assured we'll reach the right destination if we trust in him.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Getting to the right eternal destination requires faith.
Prayer: Father in heaven, please help us to do whatever it takes to be sure and certain about our faith.
