Guardian Angels
READ Psalm 91:1-16
For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways …

While jogging down a steep hill, I approached a three-way intersection. Cars were moving in either direction on the road perpendicular to me. I neared the intersection on the left side of the road, opposite traffic. Large bushes blocked my view around the left corner, so I couldn’t see traffic coming from that direction. A car approached from the right side with its blinker on, waiting to turn onto the road where I was standing. I heard a voice in my head telling me to get off the road and step onto the dirt embankment beside it. A few seconds later a large pickup truck drove directly over the spot on the road where I had been standing, with its accelerator on full so it could make it up the steep hill. If I hadn’t obeyed that voice, I would have been killed or severely injured.
Some may disagree with the concept of guardian angels, but it’s clear from scripture that they exist (see Psalm 34:7; 91:11; Matthew 18:10; Acts 12:15; and Hebrews 1:14). Perhaps they were sent here to protect us until our prescribed days on earth have ended (Psalm 139:16; Job 14:5; 21:21). God only knows the other close-calls we may have been rescued from during our lifetime, perhaps with us not even knowing about it.

Thank God for his protection.
